Established companies are already strengthening Bochum's reputation as a first-class address for IT security and the automotive industry. Both industries are driven by digitization which in turn necessitates innovation from various related industries, leaving ample opportunities for creating synergies with local players.
MARK 51°7 will be the new home for start-ups and DAX companies. Employment is created in a broad spectrum: from manufacturing industry to logistics as well as services to cutting-edge research. This mix of industries will increase the economic power of the city even on a regional level, thereby ensuring diversity as well as sustainability.
Listed landmarks are converted into the new multi-functional innovation campus of the Ruhr University, which is merely five minutes away. New research centers, such as the Max Planck Institute for Cybersecurity and Privacy Protection, are in close proximity to internationally successful companies, such as the Bosch subsidiary Escrypt, VW Infotainment and the IT service provider for space technology CGI.
